When learning a new language, one of the first lessons is usually Numbers. We meet numbers everywhere – on the street, at home, when we read and talk. Therefore, if you are going to come to Russia or just starting to learn Russian language, you need to know Russian numbers.

The first number is один – odIn – one. We say – Один дом – odin dom – one house (masculine), одНА кошка – odnA kOshka – one cat (female). When we count out loud, we can also say we can раз – raz – one.

The second number is два – dva – two. For example, два билета – dva bilEta – two tickets (masculine), двЕ женщины – dvE jEnschiny – two women (feminine).

Numbers from 3 and  further will not be changed by gender.
